What man has a mortal right to point a finger at someone else and say “you are wrong”? How do we measure wrong or right? By the norms set by society? Are we to be enslaved by tradition; are we to be mere followers, indecisive about taking action because it doesn’t follow the pattern set by convention?
Bollocks.
I understand that what’s right for me, could seem wrong to others. But if I was to pander to their ideas on how I should live MY life then who’s the fool in that equation? As long as my decision doesn’t harm anyone, doesn’t affect anyone else’s life, I have a right to live my life the way I want to. So what if I took impulsive action on something that “normal” people deliberate on for months or years? I believe that I know more about what would make me happy than anyone else. Yes, even my friends. Because friends, no matter how important a role they play in my life, have no say when it comes to a personal decision. Yes, they can voice their opinion. For god’s sake, I’m not trying to take that away from them. But they have no right to judge my friendship with them, based on a resolution I took to change my life.
Wish some people would get that.
Okay. Rant over.
